2009 TRA Women’s Retreat
The 2009 TRA Women’s Retreat was a great way to spend a weekend. There was much laughter, singing, praying, and time for spiritual renewal. Jeannie and Jala Warren planned a wonderful retreat experience. Our keynote speaker, Rev. Marilyn Fiddmont, used the cruise theme to as a background for her reflections. We spent time Saturday thinking about our lifetime journey- how we set our priorities but often our daily living isn’t matching the priorities we listed. There was also time to learn about creating an inviting and sacred worship space, make an angel from shells, and time spent in prayer with scripture and an activity to guide us. Saturday evening, we gathered by a campfire and participated in a flag retirement ceremony. It was a very meaningful event. Ask someone who was there to share their thoughts and feelings about it.
Next years event could be even better- there could be your smiling face in the group. A weekend away from home may sound like a lot to “give up” but you will be gaining so much from the time you spend with your sisters in Christ. Please plan on attending in September 2010.
Other news from the TRA Women’s Ministry: After many years of service, Nadine Hughes is stepping down as the Mountain Cluster consultant for the area. Sharon Riley, a new resident of Albuquerque, will be serving as the TRA cluster consultant. Sharon has been very active in Women’s Ministry in her former home, the Bluebonnet Area in Texas.
