Rev. Charlotte Hoppe
Area Minister/President
Charlotte was born and spent her first 21 years of life in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, learning to love the Bible and the church from her family and in the General Baptist church.
After graduating from Southeast Missouri State University with a B.S. and Oklahoma State University with a M.S., she taught high school Home Economics in rural Missouri for one year, then served as Assistant Professor of Family Relations and Child Development at the College of the Ozarks, near Branson, Missouri, for five years.
While teaching, she discovered the Disciples and became an active member in Branson Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), who sent her off to seminary to prepare for full time ministry. She graduated from Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University in June, 1986 and was ordained by Branson Christian Church and the Mid-America region. She served Sombra Del Monte Christian Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico as Associate Pastor for five years immediately following seminary and has served churches in Austin, Texas; Des Moines, Iowa; and Adrian, Michigan. She moved to El Paso March, 2006 to assume the duties of Tres Rios Area Minister after serving three years as Associate Regional Minister in the Northwest Region of the Christian Church in the states of Washington, northern Idaho and Alaska.
She has a bright, cute and energetic four-year-old nephew, Matthew, and a niece, Abby, recently arrived, who live with her sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Dennis Jones, in Portland, Oregon.
The two faithful, family cats, Alexander and Annabelle, who have followed Charlotte from Washington to Texas, are enjoying their home in the Southwest as much as Charlotte is.
